Cannizzaro wedding 6-14-14

Nice day for a beach wedding. It was hot but not overly humid. I am glad that I wore my new sandals made with yoga mat material instead of my shoes since it was very loose sand.

It was a dual set up day with a small ceremony system on the beach (battery powered peavy, iPod, and 2 small battery powered speakers) and the main rig at the reception hall for the festivities. I started at 1:45 setting up at the hall which did not call for any lighting. The wedding decor was a beach theme and they had a corn hole set leaned up in the corner near my set up.

The ceremony set up was at 3:30 and about 10 minutes from the reception hall. Parking was a challenge but I eventually found a spot on the back end of the lot. I decided to load my gear on the multi cart to pull to the beach since I put some wider never flat wheels on it. The cart did not like the sand. With a little help from a relative on the grooms side I got it there. Set up was a snap and they provided a generator for me to use. All it powered was the 1 speaker that the battery was out in and the wireless lapel mic receiver. Minus a pretty good sustained wind that came through the mic, the ceremony went off without a problem. Getting the system back to the truck was so much easier with the help of the life guard who came with a beach Polaris and drove it to my truck.

After helping the father of the groom haul the generator back to their beach house it was back to the reception hall. It was a packed house and the dance floor stayed hoppin with a bunch of country 2 step for the families from Texas and those classic slides and old school funk and hip hop. It was requested to play "family tradition" twice in a row since it got one of the family member to finally getup and dance. I ended up throwing in my ADJ light bar for the bride and groom since the lighting was a bit on the dark side in the hall. By the end the bride and groom where dripping sweat from dancing. Last dance was at 10:05 and the rest went until 10:30ish.

Everyone was super happy and enjoyed themselves! All in all it was a fun night and super great folks who were a pleasure to entertain. Hopefully a lasting memory for the bride and groom.

Here's to many happy years of marriage Katie and Stefano Cannizzaro!
